International Baccalaureate

A number of digital services for the International Baccalaureate including their public website, blog network, mobile site & Facebook page.

These sites were not created under Box A Design. I worked for the IB for 2 years as a front end developer and these were projects that I completed whilst there. The public website has over 19,000 daily visitors from around the world. The site is available in three languages; English, french & Spanish. The user base is varied, literally every region of the world uses this site to find out information about the IB.

I provided a template refresh (design and coding) for the public website bring ing in some interactive elements and generally modernising the site to be more appealing to the visitors. I engaged heavily with the IB community and staff during the design process using surveys, card sorting exercises and wireframing concepts to ensure that the new design delivered to the needs of its users.

The public website uses responsive design techniques to allow for optimum viewing on mobile devices. There is no ability to have a dedicated mobile website on the current platform and so utilising CSS3 media queries enabled an easy yet effective solution to cross device problems.

Another project I worked on was to design and create the IB’s blog network using WordPress. The site has a number of customisable themes to offer blog owners the opportunity to create their own identity to suit their blog.

I also designed and set up the current IB Facebook landing page aswell as created a number of html email and e-newsletter templates.
