Cadw

An attractive and informative bilingual website to showcase the very best of Welsh heritage from Cadw.

This project was completed whilst contracting at Welsh Government in Cardiff. Cadw is the Welsh Government’s historic environment service working for an accessible and well-protected historic environment for Wales.

The project was a complete redesign and build of the existing Cadw website. The new site offers in depth information on places to visit and events to attend as well policy information for property owners. A main focus for the new site was to allow Cadw to display their stunning photography of monuments and so each site and event page contains image galleries and video. The website also contains a custom built interactive map of all Cadw sites allowing visitors to view location information.

The site is built on the Morello content management system and has a large number of content authors. The site has a wide variety of visitors an so accessibility and usability were a major factor in the design and build.
